The main reason I enrolled by daughter in Karate lessons was to address her lack of self confidence. In this respect, my expectations have been exceeded – she has gone from being shy and reserved to quite gregarious among her peer group. 

Sensei is an excellent instructor and is able to adapt his style to suit all ages and levels of expertise. Mrs Alexander is extremely supportive and has come up with numerous ideas to keep my daughter engaged at times when she has been a little difficult!

My son joined in September 2008. I told Mrs Alexander that he is dyspraxic and agreed to him having a taster session and has been coming ever since. Both instructors are helpful, supportive and patient. This has helped my son’s balance, coordination, muscle weakness, focus and behaviour. While he has been coming he has gained his red belt which has improved his confidence and given him a sense of achievement. We are both made very welcome at all sessions and my son looks forward to going.

Both of our children are involved in Karate with our son following the Leadership course. Both of them are doing well at school and are popular and happy. We originally enrolled our son due to concerns we had with his progress and confidence at school. His current teacher had advised of a noticeable difference in him currently with focus, confidence and behaviour being among the changes. Both children enjoy Karate and are always willing to participate. They have made many new friends and enjoy achieving their next level. As parents we enjoy watching their progress and are pleased to have children growing in confidence and fitness. Also to have the peace of mind that they will become leaders and not followers, and will be able to defend themselves should the need arise.
